Cardiology Fellowship

Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship

Hands-on training in arrhythmia diagnosis, EP studies, catheter ablation and cardiac device implantation.

Cardiac Electrophysiology training

Training mode

You join the electrophysiology unit as a fellow under an assigned senior consultant, one-to-one, for the full placement.

  • In the EP lab: you scrub in on EP studies and ablations. Your role grows from vascular access and catheter positioning to reading signals at the recording system, as your consultant judges you ready.
  • Device implantation: you take part in pacemaker and defibrillator implants, from pocket preparation and lead placement to device testing.
  • In clinic: you assess arrhythmia patients, interpret ECGs and Holter recordings, and join device follow-up and programming.
  • Academic: you take part in the unit's case discussions and tracing reviews.

Your actual level of involvement (observing, assisting, or performing steps under supervision) is decided by your supervising consultant, based on your previous experience, skills, competency, and overall performance.
